PMM Jobs
The dedicated jobs board for product marketers in the UK and Europe.
I’m excited to share something new with you that I’ve been working on for a while now.
It’s called PMM Jobs - a dedicated jobs board for product marketers in the UK and Europe. A place for great PMMs to connect with companies that see the value of product marketing. You can check it out at pmmjobs.co.
Background
Anyone who’s been reading this newsletter for a while, or follows me on LinkedIn, will know that I care a lot about product marketing in Europe. Raising the quality of PMM work in the region, growing understanding of the function amongst the broader tech community, and providing content that’s relevant to product marketers across the continent.
And one of the things I keep hearing about, from both PMMs and clients, is how difficult the hiring process has become.
On the candidate’s side, the process is often frustrating. Companies aren’t sure what they want, or they change their minds midway through. You invest time and energy into a process only to find the goalposts have shifted.
On the hiring manager side, it’s a different kind of pain. LinkedIn has made it easier than ever to apply for a job. Which sounds great in theory, but in practice it means that when a new PMM role goes live, you might get over a thousand applications in a matter of days.
It’s hard to know where to start. You can’t get through all those CVs. Maybe your hiring platform has AI capabilities, but how much can you trust that while it’s still early days? It becomes really hard to work out which candidates you should actually interview.
All of this feels like a problem space worth tackling.
What PMM Jobs does
For candidates, the experience of browsing and searching for roles should be better. The site gives a dedicated space for PMMs in Europe to search and save jobs (500+ live right now) that are relevant for them. It’s been shaped by feedback from PMMs across the region about what they’re actually looking for.
For hiring managers, there should be some natural vetting happening. If someone is on pmmjobs.co, they’re very likely a product marketer. They probably have solid PMM experience. They’re interested in the craft as a long-term career. All of those things sound obvious, but we shouldn’t take them for granted given what’s happening with application volumes right now.
There will also be a weekly newsletter - PMM Jobs Weekly - available for anyone who is a member of The Product Marketer Plus.
Built differently
This is the first product I’ve built on my own.
I’ve had a lot of fun working on it and being my own product manager - while still being the PMM too, of course.
There’s plenty to work on, but I think it’s ready.
An exciting time for PMMs
The market is moving in a really positive direction right now. Tons of PMM roles are opening up, especially at senior and director level, which shows that companies are starting to really value the function. I want to make it easier for the right people to find each other.
This isn’t me moving into the recruitment space. But I do want to help solve the challenge of PMMs finding their next great role and employers finding high-calibre product marketing candidates. This is hopefully the start of something that’s genuinely useful for the community.
Check it out at pmmjobs.co. I’m excited to see where it goes and I’d love to hear from anyone who wants to be a part of it.
Cheers,
Rory
