I love this!! But how do you convince your higher ups? Example, let's say your product marketing team is led by a bigger marketing department. Everyone needs to have some sort of KPIs that are measurable. What quantitative numbers are you pulling to show you are reaching these goals?
It's a tough one, Sarah! Ideally you're working at a company with CMO/CEO just 'gets' the need for product marketing (and even more ideally, the need for it as an early hire). I have a post lined up further down the line about measuring success for PMMs, but I also always say as long as you're bringing valuable, actionable insights to your company on a regular basis, people will rarely question the value of product marketing.
